How to Write a Five Paragraph Essay From the Monthly Essay Challenge Prompts:

Paragraph 1: Determine the topic of the Essay Challenge and write an overview or introductory paragraph.  For example, the topic for July’s Essay Challenge could be “Inspired To Do Good.”   Select a quotation from one of the Arthur Ashe Courage Award recipients and write about what that quote means to you.

Paragraph 2: Write an answer to the first question in paragraph form.  Write a general answer to the question and add at least four more detailed sentences to complete the paragraph.

Paragraph 3: Write an answer to the second question in paragraph form.  Write a general answer to the question and add at least four more detailed sentences to complete the paragraph.

Paragraph 4: Write an answer to the third question in paragraph form.  Write a general answer to the question and add at least four more detailed sentences to complete the paragraph.

Paragraph 5: Summarize what you wrote in the first paragraph with the information that you wrote about in paragraphs two, three and four.  Write a strong ending sentence to conclude your essay.
